Cold Dew Shrouds Western Sichuan
As the coolness of the Cold Dew solar term spreads over the Western Sichuan Plateau, this land, hailed as "the last pure land on earth", greets the highlight of autumn with its most vivid colors.
Since mid-October, with the arrival of Cold Dew, the temperature difference between day and night on the Western Sichuan Plateau has widened, and sunny days account for more than 80%. The vegetation across the mountains has gradually faded from bright green to don a "gala dress" of golden yellow, orange-red and dark purple. Together with the snow-capped mountains that never melt, the lake-like seas as clear as mirrors, and the scattered Tibetan villages, they form a stunning landscape.
In the Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, the Xiannairi Snow Mountain has become even clearer after Cold Dew. Sunlight penetrates the clouds, falls on the snow-capped peak, and reflects dazzling light. At the foot of the mountain, the grass in Chonggu Meadow has turned golden brown, interweaving with the fiery red and bright yellow of the surrounding sweetgum and birch trees. This beautiful scene extends along the hiking trail from Luorong Pasture to Wuse Sea.
The Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area has entered its "best season for viewing colored forests". Inside Shuangqiao Valley, the needles of the red cedar forests have gradually turned deep red, while the poplar forests along the streams have become "golden corridors". When tourists walk on the wooden boardwalks, the fallen leaves under their feet rustle. Looking up, they can see the outline of the "Siguniang" Snow Mountain reflected in the lake-like sea.
Beyond the popular scenic spots, the "lesser-known autumn-viewing spots" in Western Sichuan have also gradually gained popularity. More than a hundred red watchtowers in Danba Zhonglu Tibetan Village are "surrounded" by maple forests. When the morning mist lingers, cooking smoke rises from the roofs of the Tibetan village, like a paradise on earth. The "Ten-Li Corridor" in Xinduqiao ushers in its "best time for light and shadow". At noon, sunlight filters through the golden cypress forests, casting dappled light on the road and making it a "check-in paradise" for self-driving tourists. Although Tagong Grassland has lost the bright green of midsummer, the "vast landscape" formed by the yellowed grass and the distant Yala Snow Mountain, paired with the fluttering prayer flags on the grassland, further highlights the vastness and sanctity of the Western Sichuan Plateau.
