In the snow-capped mountains, encountering the Queen of the Mountains

Mount Siguniang, located in Rilong Town, Xiaojin County, Ngawa Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, is renowned as the "Queen of Sichuan Mountains" or the "Oriental Alps." Within this icy and snowy paradise lies a 3-day hiking route, widely recognized as one of China's top 10 classic trekking trails.

We can start our journey from Chengdu and head to Rilong Town. Along the way, we’ll pass through Wolong Town, home to a wild giant panda research base, which we can visit en route. Upon arriving in Rilong Town at an elevation of 3,200 meters, we’ll rest for the night to replenish supplies and energy.

On the second day, we’ll hike to conquer the First and Second Peaks, camping at an altitude of 4,300 meters. This leg of the journey is expected to take about 8 hours of trekking. After resting, on the third day, we’ll summit and then return to Rilong Town before taking a bus back to Chengdu.

Alternatively, we have a second hiking route that traverses from Changping Valley to Bipeng Valley, crossing a pass at 4,668 meters above sea level and camping there overnight.

The trekking challenge can be undertaken at any time of the year, but the scenery varies. From May to October, the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, while from November to April, the snow-covered views are stunning, though the summit ascent becomes more challenging.

We hope you’ll visit Chengdu, Sichuan, and take on the exhilarating hiking adventure at Mount Siguniang!
